Hargy, Zhao win SA primary election

Student Association (SA) president candidates John Hargy, senior biophysics major, and Chino Zhao, sophomore nursing major, will advance to the SA general election. Hargy and Zhao received the most votes in SA’s primary election held on Feb. 20. There were 1,296 votes cast in the election.

Four students ran for the role of president. Hargy, Zhao, Alexis Garcia, sophomore construction management major and Alejandro Robles, freshman biology major. Hargy received 583 votes (44.98%), Zhao 427 (32.95%), Garcia 188 (14.51%) and Robles 98 (7.56%).

Primary elections are organized when more than two students run for the same position.

Students will be able to vote between Hargy and Zhao in the SA general election.
